I love this time of the year, especially when we get to take family photos. Since we don’t have many family photos of all of us together, this was going to be special. My friend invited us to a photoshoot event where you can get professional photos taken for a fraction of the price. I couldn’t pass up on this event since we will be getting many photos at a reasonable price. We plan on making some of the pictures our holiday cards.
I like to prepare our outfits in advance. We only had 20 minutes to take photos before the next family’s turn, so I wanted to get at least two different outfits. To make a good family photo, I like to coordinate the colors and play with different patterns. We were shopping for Aliana’s outfits a couple of weeks before a lot of the holiday styles were available in stores. So we were limited with our choices. However, we found some adorable outfits for her.
As for me, I love plaid, and I found a beautiful plaid dress to go with Aliana’s red dress. The styles were almost similar, and I liked how the patterns and colors contrast well. I wanted Aliana to be the center of attention, so her outfits had to pop in all of the photos. My husband was simple and matched his jacket and slacks with the colors of my dress.
Our second outfit was going to be a little different because I brought a couple of props that I wanted to use in the photos. Sometimes props in an indoor shoot come out very cute in pictures. I bought some garland and made two halos for Aliana and I. Another accessory I purchased were two stars, one white and one gold.
We switched up the outfits so that Aliana was wearing a red plaid two-piece while my husband and I both wore a dark navy blue. Aliana’s outfit still matched the style of my dress because both outfits have short sleeves with a similar neckline. My husband looks very dapper and classic with his blazer and slacks.
