Finding the right bottles for babies with a lot of gas and colic can be difficult. As a first-time mom, I didn’t know which bottles were going to be the best for Aliana. Before she was born, I chose the ones that had the best design and reviews. Then when Aliana was experiencing a lot of gas and was super fussy, I knew we had to make some changes. We introduced gripe water into the routine, which instantly calmed her down. Then we decided to switch her bottles to the Dr. Browns Natural Flow. Aliana’s gas problem was no longer an issue. Now I have Brixon who has colic. Again we had to make changes. We bought the Dr. Browns Options Anti-Colic bottles. These bottles are GOLD!
The vent system of these bottles is magic. Air bubbles are created in the milk when the baby is sucking through the nipple with a regular bottle. The vent system with Dr. Brown bottles allows the air to circulate up through the vent and to the top of the bottle, so air doesn’t pass through the milk. Say goodbye to the air bubbles that will make your baby gassy. When Brixon gets older, I have the option to use the bottle without the vent.
I also got the silicone sleeves which fits over the bottles. Once Brixon is almost ready to use a sippy cup, the handles on the sleeves will help with the transition. When he is off the bottle, we plan on using Dr. Brown’s sippy cups. Aliana’s favorite sippy cup is Dr. Browns straw cup. Our family is a huge fan of Dr. Brown’s products, especially their bottles, are the only ones I recommend to all of our friends and family.
